Action Genre

  The typical target audience of the Action is young males aged around 16-25 years old. Most action films have large amounts of fast-paced scenes, violence, and sexual content which would be the gratifications this audience will look for.

  The action conventions include clearly defined hero, victim, and villain; Hero's object of desire is to stop the villain and save the victim; Power divide between hero and villain is large and Speech in praise of the villain.

  Institutional conventions of action movies usually include fast pace exciting film trailers, a strong-looking male leading role, etc.

John Wick (retroactively known as John Wick: Chapter 1) is a 2014 American neo-noir action thriller film directed by Chad Stahelski, in his directorial debut, and written by Derek Kolstad. It stars Keanu Reeves, Michael Nyqvist, Alfie Allen, Adrianne Palicki, Bridget Moynahan, Dean Winters, Ian McShane, John Leguizamo, and Willem Dafoe. It is the first installment in the John Wick franchise.

John Wick includes tons of fights, chases, explosions, and a combination of state-of-the-art special effects and stunt work. Which satisfied the audience who enjoys fast-paced plots and intense fight scenes.
